Manual Calibration
First of all before starting, keep in mind that the calibration process takes a lot of time. It took 1.30 hours for my nexus 4 to calibrate the battery. This method is recommended for the non rooted devices which somehow ended up showing wrong battery information.
Step one
Drain your battery to 0% , until the phone switch of itself. Power it on again and again until the phone doesn't have any juice left to start.
Step Two
Plug your phone using the original charger and leave it until its completely charged to 100%. Make sure you don't power on the device or use the device until its charged to 100%.
Step Three
Once the device has notified you that its 100% charged unplug from the charger and leave the device idle for 2 minutes.
Step Four
Switch on the device and use the device for about 5-10 minutes, make sure you don't run highly power consuming apps.
Step Five
After using the device for a while power of the device again and charge the device until its 100%
Once its fully charged you can start using the phone. Congratulation you have successfully calibrated your device and now you can get the correct battery status.
Calibration using app
Note Your device must be rooted to use this app.
Download the app from the Google play store
And simply follow the steps mentioned in the app. This also requires a lot of patience as the device needs to be 100% before you calibrate the device.
